SAVE Dade announces sponsors of 2013 Champions of Equality awards reception honoring local LGBT advocates
MIAMI, May 9, 2013—SAVE Dade and SAVE Foundation today announced the sponsors of their 8th annual Champions of Equality awards reception. The yearly event was established to reward standout advocates on behalf of the Miami-Dade LGBT community, and has honored such luminaries as Senator Bill Nelson of Florida and South Florida Congresswomen Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
“The record number of sponsors for this year’s event just goes to show how support for equality not only makes moral sense, but it makes business sense, too,” said SAVE executive director CJ Ortuño. “We’ve reached the point where equality is no longer just a social value but an economic value as well.”
Title sponsors for this year’s event include the Hilton Miami Downtown, which has generously provided the venue for the reception and will be offering attendees special room reservation rates, and Chambord Vodka, which will be supplying drinks for the event’s open bar.
Sponsors contributed towards making this event a reality at four different giving levels. Local law firm Bilzin Sumberg came in at the highest tier of giving, the Equality Hero Level.
At the Equality Angel giving level were the law firm White & Case, Magic City Casino, the insurance firm Aon plc, and PortMiami, the seaport of Miami-Dade County.
Contributors in the Equality Defender giving tier included American Airlines, the City of Miami Beach, the financial services firms Raymond James and Morgan Stanley, the renowned interior designer David Bromstad, the law firms Stearns Weaver Miller and Greenberg Traurig, City National Bank, wealth management firms BNY Mellon and SingerXenos, the Williamson Automotive group of local auto dealers, South Beach’s 1 Hotel & Residences, and Royal Media Partners, the media partner of Royal Caribbean Cruises.
Sponsors at the Equality Advocate giving level included the local ministry Unity on the Bay, the consulting firm Edge Communications, photographer Silvia Ros, and the law firms Becker & Poliakoff, Gelber Schachter & Greenberg, Steinberg & Associates, Holland & Knight, and Grieco Law.
This year’s Champions of Equality reception will be held May 10th at the Hilton Miami Downtown from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM. Tickets to the event, which will include a cocktail reception and silent auction, are $100 in advance and $150 at the door. Tickets are currently available for presale at www.savedade.org/champions.
