As a voter in South Florida, I want to thank Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen for standing up to protect healthcare for her constituents. The AHCA proposal would have left so many Americans without care, and I applaud the Congresswoman for speaking out early and often against it.
In the two weeks leading up to the scheduled vote on AHCA, Rep. Ros-Lehtinen gave SAVE supporters in both Washington, DC and Miami the opportunity to directly express their concerns to her. She went to great lengths to hear out her constituents, and the outcome of the AHCA battle shows that allies like her are critical in the fight to defend LGBTQ equality.
The Congresswoman took a stance on the right side of this critical issue, and she deserves my praise. Many of her constituents will sleep a bit easier knowing their healthcare is no longer in jeopardy. Thank you again to Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen for opposing the AHCA "Trumpcare" proposal.
