Pride has always been about more than celebration. It’s about power. And this year, SAVE is taking that power to the podium.
This June, we’re bringing Pride into city halls, school boards, and county commissions across South Florida. As the region’s longest-serving LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, SAVE is launching a grassroots push to make our voices heard where it counts. Through bold public testimony and strategic pressure on local leaders, we’re demanding change that is tangible and long overdue.

Why Now?
Across Florida, LGBTQ+ rights are under attack. But while national headlines grab attention, some of the most critical decisions impacting our community are being made at the local level. From city policies to funding for vital services, these decisions shape whether LGBTQ+ people are safe, visible, and supported.
This Pride Month, we’re calling on you to stand with us. Join SAVE in showing local leaders that Advocacy is Pride by speaking at your city’s commission meeting.
What You’ll Do
You will deliver a three-minute public comment focused on the issues that matter most:
- LGBTQ+ visibility and safety
- The underfunding of essential services
- Your city’s Municipal Equality Index score
- The role Pride plays as a platform for advocacy.
We will provide talking points, help you prepare, and support you every step of the way. Whether this is your first time speaking publicly or your tenth, your voice can make a difference.
Let’s Raise the Bar
Municipal Equality Index scores help measure how inclusive our local governments really are. Together, we can push our cities to adopt stronger protections, pass inclusive policies, and commit to meaningful action that supports the LGBTQ+ community all year long.
Now more than ever, we must speak up for LGBTQ+ visibility, safety, and funding. While national and statewide politics matter, real change starts here at home in the institutions that are meant to serve all of us.
RSVP now. Show up. Speak out. Pride is not just a celebration. It is a movement.
