Thank you to everyone who made SAVE’s LGBTQ Lobby Days a powerful success.
In March and April, we bused advocates from South Florida to Tallahassee, bringing energy, personal stories, and determination straight to the Capitol. By meeting face-to-face with legislators, sharing your experiences, and pushing for policies that protect our community, you played a critical role in advancing equality.
These trips were not just about policy. They were about showing lawmakers the resilience, passion, and power of Florida’s LGBTQ+ community and our allies. Together, we sent a message that could not be ignored: we are here, and we are fighting for a future where everyone can live openly, safely, and authentically.
Throughout Lobby Days, participants learned about the legislative process, how state government functions, and the most effective strategies to influence change. We also had the incredible opportunity to meet directly with key champions, including Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell, Senator Shevrin Jones, Representative Ashley Gantt, Representative Marie Woodson, Representative Mitch Rosenwald, and Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith.
Because of this collective action, nearly every anti-LGBTQ+ bill introduced this session has either died or been withdrawn from consideration. This is what direct action achieves. It is the result of showing up, speaking out, and refusing to back down. SAVE was also honored with formal recognition on both floors of the legislature.

We hope you left feeling inspired, connected, and ready to continue this work. Thank you for standing with us. Let’s keep pushing forward together.
