Impacted by Florida's public building restroom ban? The ACLU Florida wants to connect with you!Florida Statute § 553.865, also known as H.B. 1521, is one of the many laws recently enacted as part of an anti-LGBTQIA+ agenda spreading across Florida. Targeting transgender, non-binary, gender-nonconforming, and intersex individuals, the law makes it a crime in Florida for someone in a multi-user restroom or changing facility in a building owned or leased by a government entity to refuse to leave that restroom or changing facility after an employee of that government entity tells them to.

If any of the following applies to you or your child, we would love to connect with you:

  • You or they are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or someone who has been perceived by others as gender-nonconforming and have been directly impacted by this law;
