Big Victory in Florida!

The Florida Commission on Human Rights (FCHR) has issued a ruling, which was introduced by former SAVE Board Member Monica Cepero, to protect LGBTQ individuals from discrimination. The FCHR will begin to investigate complaints about sex-based discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations that includes gender identity and sexual orientation.

Here are the Social Justice Scholarship Winners of 2020

We are proud to announce five 2020 Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarship winners, who were each awarded $5,500 in scholarships. These LGBTQ and allied students in South Florida strive to lead in a field of Social Justice. After receiving a number of extremely impressive applications, five scholarship recipients have been. Each recipient has a proven record of leadership and contributions to the LGBTQ community and has demonstrated a commitment to a field of Social Justice in their professional futures. Meet the winners below.

We appreciate Freidin Brown P.A. for underwriting $25,000 of the scholarship. Additionally, we thank Larry Hyer who provided additional funding to increase the scholarship award for each student.

Victory in Miami!

Led by Commissioner Ken Russell, the City of Miami just passed a resolution to file an amicus brief in the Otto vs The City of Boca Raton case. This is fantastic news as we prepare to appeal the harmful ruling from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down our local conversion therapy bans in November.

2020 Election Watch Party and Drag Show

On Election Night there is nowhere else better to be than with your LGBTQ community. Join us at R House on Tuesday, November 3rd for our Election Night Watch Party and Drag Show featuring Fantasia Royale Gaga, TP Lords, Karla Croqueta, and Athena Dion. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the party will go until 9:00 pm.

This event is rain or shine. Refunds will only be given if Miami-Dade County or the City of Miami issues additional restrictions or curfews that prevent the event from taking place. For your safety and the safety of others, masks wll be required to enter and can be removed once you are seated. Furthermore, to ensure that social distancing is maintained all tickets are sold as tables.
