Local government decisions impact LGBTQ+ rights in real and immediate ways. SAVE began our Advocacy is Pride initiative as a way to encourage residents to speak directly to their elected officials about how they can support the LGBTQ+ community.
Now more than ever, we must stand up and speak out for LGBTQ+ visibility, safety, and funding. While National and Statewide politics matter, the real work continues here at home – in your local city halls, school boards, and county commissions throughout South Florida. Thats why we have expaned the program to run all year long.
One of the most effective ways to create change is by showing up and speaking out. Even if you've never taken part in politics or advocacy, we can show you how easy it is to get involved. SAVE staff will help you craft talking points and offer guidance to make sure your voice is heard loud and clear! Through powerful public testimony, and sustained pressure on local electeds we hope to engage municipalities in advocating for LGBTQ related funding and safety measures.
