For the eighth consecutive year, Freidin Brown, P.A. is teaming up with SAVE to provide the 2026 Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarships, which give financial support to LGBTQ+ and allied students who have strong connections to the South Florida community and are striving to lead in a field of Social Justice.

By offering a total of $25,000 in needed financial support, Freidin Brown, P.A. and SAVE hope to give tomorrow’s social justice leaders the tools they need to excel.

​

If you’re a changemaker pursuing a career in law, social work, education, public policy, government or any related field — this scholarship is for you.

​

Applications open June 1 and close August 31, 2026. Finalists will be invited for virtual interviews September 12, 13 and 14, with the 5 Scholarship recipients being announced on September 15. Scholarships will be funded directly to each winner’s school.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a proven record of volunteer or leadership experience either within the LGBTQ community or within another field of Social Justice.

Applicants must have completed at least two years of college or be enrolled in or accepted to a graduate program with a focus in social work, community policy, law, government, education, or any other relative field addressing social justice issues.

Applicants must complete the below application and submit the following:

• A recent school transcript

• A short written statement explaining how financial support will help them achieve their goals.

• A personal statement (500 words max.).

• An essay (1000 words max.) that addresses one of the prompts listed below.

Applicants cannot be a past recipient of a Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarship.

Applicants cannot be a past or present client of Freidin Brown, P.A.

The use of use of AI and/or large language models (LLMs) is strictly prohibited for any of the above-mentioned requirements. Use of AI / LLMs will result in immediate disqualification.

SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE

• Monday, August 31 - Scholarship application closes at 12am

• Tuesday, September 1 - Confirmation will be sent to applicants

• September 1 through 8 - Judges will review your applications

• Tuesday, September 9 - If you are selected as a finalist, you will receive confirmation and the appointment link to schedule your virtual interviews.

• Saturday, Sep. 12 & Sunday, Sep. 13 - Virtual interviews (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM)

• Monday, September 14 - Overflow virtual interviews (6:00 – 8:00 PM, if needed)

• Tuesday, September 15 - All applicants notified of final results and scholarship recipients announced on social media

• Friday, September 25 - Award Ceremony & Reception at SAVE Youth Leadership Conference. Attendance by Award winners is strongly encouraged.
