About the SAVE Your Education Scholarship Database:

This hub helps students of all backgrounds quickly find, evaluate, and track scholarship opportunities in one place. It centralizes deadlines, eligibility, award amounts, and application requirements so you can focus on strong submissions instead of scattered links.

This project originated at SAVE LGBTQ, where intern William Harless set out to bridge the divide many students face when searching for helpful, legitimate scholarships. The mission is simple: make access to scholarship resources easier, faster, and to improve your chances of success!

National Database

Broad reach, higher competition.

Prioritize if award size is high or fit is strong.

Regional Database

Smaller applicant pools.

Prioritize for higher odds and local alignment.

Scholarship Tips & Tricks

Cast a wide net: Apply to many smaller awards!

(Win rates improve when competition is lower)

Create a recommender packet.

(Resume, 3 bullet achievements, due date, and how to submit)

(Ask 2 weeks in advance)

Quantify impact: numbers stand out.

(Hours volunteered, money raised, people helped, outcomes improved)

Show fit: mirror the scholarship’s mission keywords in your essay and activities.

Mind deadlines: set two reminders.

(One 14 days before, one 48 hours before—so drafts and signatures aren’t rushed)

Check eligibility fine print.

(GPA thresholds, location, major, enrollment status, citizenship, and time commitment)

Validate links: always open the official site; avoid aggregator pages for final submission.

Submit early: portals can break near deadlines!

Early submissions reduce stress and allow fixes.

Keep a win/loss log: note outcomes and feedback to sharpen future applications.
