2026 Youth Leadership Conference Steering Committee

We are looking for passionate, organized, and driven student leaders to join our Youth Leadership Conference Steering Committee. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-impact event from the ground up, shaping the experience for student presenters and corporate partners alike. The conference is Friday, September 25, 2026 at FIU BBC.

Details:

Time Commitment: June 15 – September 30, 2026.
In recognition of your leadership and service to the community, committee members will receive a $500 participation stipend. This honorarium will be issued upon the successful completion of the conference term.
Weekly planning meetings (virtual) and hybrid (in-person and virtual) availability during the full week of the conference in September (i.e., September 19 - September 25, 2026).
This is a volunteer leadership role intended for educational and professional development.

Qualifications

We are looking for a diverse team of students. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Commitment: Ability to dedicate 5–7 hours per week from June through September.
Communication: Strong email etiquette and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Reliability: Proven track record of meeting deadlines (crucial for event planning!).
Problem Solving: A "can-do" attitude when unexpected tech or venue issues arise.
